Blur Based Approach to Estimating Velocity of the Air Hockey Puck”
In this project a
real-time approach for the extraction of air hockey puck’s velocity from motion
blurred frames is implemented. In this approach we first lower the resolution of
the frame to find the puck, then use Fourier transform on the full resolution
frame to extract the direction of velocity. The roundness of the ball is then used
in order to estimate the magnitude of velocity.

Using a laser pointer instead of a computer mouse is achieved by
having a webcam face the projector screen (or monitor). By capturing the video and
then finding the relative coordinates of the laser pointer on the screen using video
tracking techniques we can then simulate the appropriate mouse functions. Laser pointers are much more user friendly when using a Projector screen.
In this project, we tackle reconfiguration
planning in modular robots. We present a graph-based method for
representing configurations, and probabilistic methods in robotics is
also used.
